Duration:
Learn Manual Ligament Therapy (MLT) with Lola Michelin, internationally recognized animal bodyworker and educator. MLT is a precise and highly effective modality that integrates concepts from osteopathy, chiropractic, and manual therapy to reduce muscle tension and restore communication between key ligament and muscle relationships.
Originally developed for humans by Arik Gohl, MLT was adapted for animals by Lola Michelin following advanced study and collaboration with its creator. With her expertise, the technique has been successfully taught and applied in five countries across three continents.
This comprehensive course introduces participants to the unique anatomy, science, and application of MLT for horses. Through focused instruction and hands-on practice, students will gain the skills to effectively identify ligament dysfunctions and apply gentle yet powerful techniques to restore balance, mobility, and performance in the equine body.
Upon completion of this course, participants will:
-
Understand the theoretical foundations of Manual Ligament Therapy and its relationship to osteopathic and chiropractic principles.
-
Explore the anatomical and physiological connections between ligaments, muscles, and joint function in the horse.
-
Learn assessment techniques to identify patterns of ligament tension and imbalance that affect movement and performance.
-
Develop proficiency in applying MLT techniques safely and effectively for a variety of equine presentations.
-
Integrate MLT into an existing bodywork, rehabilitation, or performance program to enhance overall treatment outcomes.
This course is open to anyone with a working knowledge of veterinary vocabulary, anatomy and horse handling skills. Students new to the field are welcome to participate but must first register for the EQ50: Equine Anatomy Precourse Distance Study.
